    Working with Candidates

In this role, you will work primarily with students one-on-one during walk-in or appointment hours on issues that impact their respective careers. This covers everything from resumes and cover letters, to interview skills, to ways to search for an internship or job, to the variety of resources and services that Career Services provides for candidates to learn about their skills, interests, and values. (Don’t worry, we will train you!)

    Signature Project

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining your own project with guidance from Career Services staff. Projects are expected to be completed/presented at the end of each academic semester, with regular updates at staff and individual supervision meetings. Based on your interests this could involve any of the following:

    • Facilitating a student focused program or event
    • Researching and developing a relevant career resource guide
    • Facilitating a dedicated Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative
    • Creating engaging career education marketing campaigns via HireOSUGrads.com or Social Media
    • Using data collection methods to create a research data report, assess programming, or project

    Event Support, Marketing, and Reporting

You will participate in employer events on-campus by helping set up and facilitating career fairs supported by Career Services, as well as other career workshops and special events open to current and prospective students and alumni. This includes generating interest in the events by helping spread the word through email or social media posts, presenting to student organizations and classes, as well as representing the department through tabling events around campus. As a student, you can serve a vital role of communicating the pulse around campus to our team and bringing new ideas for ways the department can market to students.

    Preferred Qualifications:

We need a graduate student who is available to work 20 hours per week during the 2023-2024 academic year. Training for the role begins at the beginning of August.

Please submit a cover letter, resume, and references.
