College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology Graduate Assistantships
The College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) hosts 0.5 FTE Graduate Assistant positions within the Student Academic Services department. CEAT is the academic home to all engineering, architecture, and engineering technology major programs and is “a community of scholars, innovators and leaders who are changing the world.” CEAT students are motivated, leaders, self-disciplined, and inspired. Student Academic Services staff focus on engaging in meaningful, strategic interactions that contribute to student wellbeing and success.

Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Coordinator of Student Engagement in the management of the following, non-exhaustive list, of programs and priorities:
- Parker Hall Living Learning Program
- Support for the experiential learning that occurs in the Parker Hall LLP for first year CEAT and Pre-CEAT students
- Serve as an advisor to the PEATEs (Parker
- Engineering, Architecture, and Technology Experts) who are the upperclassmen mentors who live in the residence hall
- Plan and execute various programming within Parker
- Hall for LLP members
- First Year Experience Program
- Provide administrative support for tracking students’ progress within CEAT’s First Year Experience program which focuses on four areas of the student experience in their first year, either as a first time, full time, or transfer student: Campus Connection, Academic Engagement, Self-Growth and Wellness, and Inclusive Leadership
- Help guide the selection of programmatic themes and continual improvement for the program
- CEAT Scholars Program
- Support the enrichment activities and development of students within the CEAT Scholars Program in the areas of cultural development, leadership and professional development, industry engagement, and community service
- Work with the Executive and Planning Committees to guide the structure of the program
- CEAT Summer Bridge Program
- Support strategic planning for the 2024 CEAT Summer Bridge Program including selection of undergraduate Program Assistants
- This position does come with the opportunity to be employed during the Summer 2024 term to support Summer Bridge, at the successful candidate’s discretion and interest
- Additional administrative and programmatic functions as necessary throughout the academic year
Direct Supervisor
The individual selected for this position will report to the Coordinator of Student Engagement within CEAT.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Enrollment as a degree seeking student in a graduate program at Oklahoma State University, preferably a program within the School of Educational Foundations, Leadership and Aviation
- A passion for working with undergraduate students

This GA position will support the Coordinator of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs to fulfill the diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology through student engagement and retention.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate psychoeducational workshops about stress management for students attending Summer Bridge, an 8-week summer intensive for incoming freshmen.
- Assist in the revision of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion statement and action plan.
- Provide diversity, equity, and inclusion workshops for Intro to Engineering classes to promote an inclusive culture within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology.
- Plan and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion programming and support to students within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology.
- Consult with engineering and architecture company recruiters and executives on ways to support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the college.
- Collaborate with university offices to meet students’ unique academic, financial, and community- based needs within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology.
- Support student organizations that target underrepresented groups within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology with administrative, programmatic, and financial inquiries.
- Assess and report diversity and retention data for the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology

- CEAT Student Engagement and Retention Programs – Academic Alerts
Responsibilities:
- Manage Academic Alert Report – contact CEAT students, who have been issued academic alerts, and provide resources for student success.
- Assist in reaching out to CEAT freshmen with low mid-term GPAs to provide encouragement and support.
- Assist CEAT Student Academic Services staff with various student engagement events throughout the academic year.
