2024 OSU Student Affairs Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient

Diane is a 1987 graduate who majored in marketing. While at OSU, Diane’s orange passion was on-campus living activities and student government. She lived and worked as a desk clerk for Residential Life. Diane served in leadership roles in Willard Hall and campus wide as RHA Supreme Court Chief Justice and as RHA President. While Vice President at Willard Hall, Diane was instrumental in the fight to keep Willard open as an all-women’s traditional residence hall, including a presentation to the OSU Board of Regents that swayed the Regents to reverse the decision to close Willard and keep it open for the 1985-86 school year. Her senior year, Diane was honored as an OSU Alumni Association Top Ten Outstanding Student, Spears Top Ten Outstanding Senior and Redskin Congratulate.

Diane earned her juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Carey School of Law in 1990, where she was Managing Editor of the Penn Journal of International Business Law. She has practiced law in Houston for 34 years, currently serving as Chief Legal Officer at GSFS Group, a leading finance and insurance provider in the automotive industry. Under her leadership, the legal team grew from two to 15 members. She is also a respected figure in the industry, serving as Chairman of the Board of the Consumer Credit Industry Association and receiving the 2022 “Transaction of the Year” award from the Houston Chapter of the American Corporate Council Association.

An active OSU alumna, Diane serves as Treasurer of the Houston OSU Alumni Chapter and supports various campus initiatives, including an endowed scholarship she and her husband Steve created. She is also deeply involved in youth development through the Boy Scouts of America, where she has led numerous Scouts to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Diane lives in Cypress, Texas, and considers her greatest joy to be her family—her husband Steve and their two sons, both OSU graduates.
