Distinguished Alumni Award

Claudia Humphreys and her husband, Gary, are part of a proud Oklahoma State University alumni family. Together with their children—Eric and Darcey, and Jake and Ryli—the Humphreys family shares a deep and lasting connection to OSU, with each of them earning their degrees from the university. Their story is a testament to a multigenerational commitment to the Cowboy family and to the transformative power of education.

 

Claudia’s dedication to her alma mater is reflected in her active leadership and service across campus and beyond. She contributes her time and expertise as a member of Women for OSU, the Agriculture Dean’s Advisory Council, and the OSU Foundation Board of Governors, where she plays a meaningful role in advancing initiatives that strengthen both the university and the student experience.

 

Her passion for helping students succeed has inspired her to spearhead several impactful initiatives that have become cornerstones of support at OSU. The Eugene Embry Scholarship for Students with Dyslexia—the first of its kind at the university—was created to ensure that students with all forms of dyslexia are recognized, encouraged, and given access to the resources they need to thrive. Through Pete’s Pantry, Claudia has helped remove a critical barrier for students by ensuring access to nutritious food, allowing them to focus on their academic goals without the strain of food insecurity. Likewise, Claudia’s Career Closet provides students with professional attire to help them prepare for internships and job interviews with confidence. Beyond clothing, the program equips students with career counseling, mock interviews, and personal encouragement to help them step boldly into their future careers.

 

For Claudia, philanthropy is both a personal calling and a family priority. Guided by the belief that those who have been blessed with resources should invest in lifting others, she and her family have devoted their time, energy, and resources to advancing opportunities for OSU students. Her vision goes beyond financial support—she seeks to foster dignity, confidence, and success for students who will go on to shape the future of their communities and professions.

 

Through her service, generosity, and enduring Cowboy spirit, Claudia Humphreys continues to leave a lasting legacy at Oklahoma State University. Her example reminds us that when individuals choose to invest in people, they not only transform lives in the present but also strengthen the university for generations to come.
