Monday, October 30, 2017
It’s BEDLAM week!
The biggest game of the year is finally here. And you know what that means ... it’s time to go over some pointers to help you have the BEST. BEDLAM. EVER.
The OSU Football experience reaches far outside Boone Pickens Stadium. Fans come from all over the state to experience game day and all that comes with it.
Oh, and did you know ESPN College GameDay will be here to broadcast the pregame show? Well you do now. Show up early, wear #orange and get ROWDY like we know you can. And don’t forget to bring your signs...You might be seen on national television!
How do you capitalize on the ultimate game day experience, you ask? 👇
TICKETS
PRO TIP: Don't have your Bedlam tickets yet? Sign up for a chance to WIN!!
Students can buy an all-sports pass. This gets you into every Oklahoma State home event in every sport for just one price. PRO TIP: You can even put it on your bursar!
If you don't want to participate in all the games, purchase a single ticket.
PEP RALLY
The Cowboy Corral Pep Rally will be at the OSU Alumni Center at 12:30 on Saturday. It is the ONLY on-campus pep rally with Pistol Pete, the OSU Spirit Squads and the Cowboy Marching Band.
And we can’t leave out Bullet! You can snap a picture with Bullet at the Alumni Center at 1:30.
THE WALK
Hype up the Cowboys during The Walk to the stadium led by Coach Gundy, the spirit squads, and the OSU Marching Band. Be ready two hours before kickoff on the south side of the Student Union.
TAILGATING
It’s an American tradition. If you choose to take part in it, be responsible. There are certain areas around the stadium that prohibit alcohol consumption, know where they are. Note: if you appear intoxicated, you will not be allowed into the game.
Make sure to grab some tickets for the Traditions Tailgate! You can experience tailgating like never before with all of the included amenities when you purchase a ticket.
STUDENT SECTION
Use your student ID to enter through the West End Zone gate and get a prime spot in the Student Section. If you want to sit for the whole game, we wouldn't suggest the Student Section. This is where the action happens. PRO TIP: Student Section is for standing.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
Possession or consumption of alcohol in the general seating areas of Boone Pickens Stadium is prohibited and violators are subject to ejection and possible legal action. Just watch and enjoy the game!
THE SCOOP ON FOOD
You can use your meal plan and bursar at the concession stand. Try the chocolate-covered cheesecake, it's a touchdown for sure.
TRADITIONS
When the announcer yells "HERE.....COMES.... BULLET!" Go. Wild. The OSU Spirit Rider will race the flag down the field after each touchdown.
I say ORANGE, you say POWER. And don’t be wimpy about it. Belt it.
You will want to know the words to the fight song and the Alma Mater hymn. Just sayin’.
ATTIRE
Of course, wear #AmericasBrightestOrange every chance you get but especially on game days. When it's hot, wear loose fitting clothing to prevent overheating. When it's cold, put hand warmers in your pockets and socks to keep you warm.
Wear shoes that will keep you comfortable touchdown after touchdown.
SAFETY
If you see something that doesn't look quite right, report it. There will be police officers and game day staff around the stadium who can help you. Download the Orange Shield app for quick access to safety resources.
First-Aid Rooms are located on the plaza and mezzanine levels (southwest and northwest side) of Boone Pickens Stadium.
You only have a few years to experience this, soak it all in!
