Monday, October 1, 2018

Pistol Pete gives you the inside scoop on all things enrollment.

Let’s talk enrollment.

You might feel like the semester just started, but guess what? It’s time to start thinking about the Spring!

Do you know the steps to enroll for a new semester? Do you know what classes to take next?

Well lucky for you, we’ve got you covered.

First things first...

1. After your adviser emails you with the days you’re allowed to come in leading up to your enrollment date, schedule an appointment.

PRO TIP: If you schedule for a day earlier than given, they’ll cancel your appointment to give it to someone with a closer enrollment date.

While you’re waiting for your appointment, get prepared!

Go through your degree sheet and browse through classes.

Make a list of questions.

  • Am I on track to graduate on time?
  • Should I pick a minor?

Next up, plan your schedule.

The course catalog is super helpful and provides immediate access to degree requirements and course details as well as university policies and other information you may need!

Once you’ve found classes, save your plan to make it quicker to enroll. If you’re nervous about a class being full by the time you can enroll, make a back-up plan!

Don’t know how? Follow the steps below!

  1. Log into your Self Service account
  2. Go to student registration

PRO TIP:  The *FAFSA for the 2019-2020 school year opens October 1. Students must complete the FAFSA each year that they would like to be considered for financial aid. We encourage all students to complete the FAFSA each year you are enrolled at OSU. You may qualify for more than you think! Visit the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to answer any questions!

*DEFINITION: FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Colleges and universities use this form to determine eligibility for federal, state, and college-sponsored financial aid.
